Centre for electronic publishing in literary studies

The "Centre for Electronic Publishing in Literary Studies" (ZEPL) was founded at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich/Germany in January 2003 in order to promote electronic publishing in literary studies.

To this end, the ZEPL

  • gathers information about electronic publishing in literary studies
  • collects, maintains, and conveys information about relevant open source standards, such as for data storage or metadata exchange
  • tests technology for electronic publishing and releases the results
  • develops open source software packages for electronic publishing in literary studies
  • organises workshops and meetings for online editors in literary studies

At this time, the ZEPL is supported by the publishers of three online magazine (Forum Computerphilologie, IASLonline, Medienobservationen), and by Dr. Marcel Schellong.
